Report Details     Top

The AuctionYen reports contain VERY valuable data that you can use to find a product or niche idea for your online business. Here are the report values explained in more detail:

Words

The 'Words' column displays the single or multiple word combination gathered from the AuctionYen search. In the '1 Word' grid the word length is 4 characters or more, this eliminates all the small irrelevant words such as: a, for, it, now, can, do, ect.

Also, only word combinations that produce a yen factor greater than zero are collected in the keyword grids. Word combos that produce a yen factor of zero have no relevance because they usually only occur once, or there are tons of responses with little occurrences.

Occurrences

This number represents the number of times that the corresponding single or multiple word combination occurs in the total number of posts searched. If the word combination represents a product or possible niche idea, then the number of occurrences signifies the demand. AND ... the HIGHER the demand, the better :o)

Responses

This number represents the total number of responses that ebay sellers have posted in response to the corresponding single or multiple word combination. If the word combination represents a product or possible niche idea, then the number of responses signifies the competition. AND ... the LOWER the competition, the better :o)

Yen Factor

This number represents the quality of the word combination based on the number of occurrences (demand) and the number of responses (competition). It also ranges from 0 to 10, where the closer to 10 the better the quality.

eBay Site

This is where you can select which eBay web site you want to search. Each of the web sites have their own dedicated Want-It-Now section. This gives you TONS of categories and possible searches to find that hidden product or niche idea.

Here is where you can select the category for the corresponding eBay web site. When you click the 'Browse' button AuctionYen goes right to the corresponding eBay site and collects the category names in real-time. They are not retrieved from pre-stored categories, therefore you will always get the latest category names.

You can easily collect data from the corresponding eBay web site's Want-It-Now section by entering a search word or phrase. For example, say you are only interested in selling software, but you don't know what kind is in demand. Enter the keyword 'software' and click the 'Yenalyze' button.

The filtering option allows you to filter your report data based on several criteria.

Step 1

Simply click the 'Filter' button for the corresponding keyword grid that you want to filter and then select the column you want to filter in step 1.

Step 2

If you selected the 'Words' column in step 1 then the 'Text Criteria' options will be enabled.

Case sensitive

Select this if you would like your filter search to be case sensitive.

Keyword search

This option simply finds any of the keywords in your filter search phrase. For example, say you want to filter all rows containing "cd software", then any words in the 'Words' column containing either "cd" or "software" will be removed.

Full text search

This option finds all the keywords in your filter search phrase. For example, say you want to filter all rows containing "cd software", then any words in the 'Words' column containing the full text phrase "cd software" will be removed.

Filter rows containing

Here is where you enter the keyword or phrase that will be removed from the list. For example, say you want to remove all rows containing the words "cd software", simply enter the keyword phrase "cd software" ... without the quotes.

Filter rows NOT containing

Here is where you enter the keyword or phrase that will not be removed from the list. For example, say you want to remove all rows not containing the words "cd software", simply enter the keyword phrase "cd software" ... without the quotes.

This will remove all rows that have a number GREATER than the value entered. For example, say you want to remove all rows that have greater than 5 occurrences, then all rows with 6 or greater number of occurrences will be removed and all the rows with 5 or less number of occurrences will not be removed.

Filter numbers LESS than

This will remove all rows that have a number LESS than the value entered. For example, say you want to remove all rows that have less than 5 occurrences, then all rows with 4 or less number of occurrences will be removed and all the rows with 5 or greater number of occurrences will not be removed.

Filter numbers EQUAL to

This will remove all rows that have a number EQUAL to the value entered. For example, say you want to remove all rows that have exactly 5 occurrences, all the rows that do not have exactly 5 number of occurrences will be removed.

Yen-Highlight     Top

This is a simple feature that highlights the Yen Factor cells dark and light green. The dark green is for rows that have a Yen Factor greater or equal to 5.00 and the lighter green for rows with a Yen Factor less than 5.00.

This can be handy when saving your reports as html, it gives an easy visual way to see which word combinations are good.

Options - Application Priority     Top

This option allows you to set the application priority level. If you have a computer with hyper-threading technology, then the Normal priority level is sufficient.

Low

Set it to this level if you want AuctionYen to only use minimal computer resources. This allows you to use other applications while AuctionYen runs in the background. Note that AuctionYen may perform slower for this priority level.

Normal

This is the normal state. This setting is most recommended.

High

Set it to this level if you would like AucionYen to use more computer resources to complete the analysis. Please note that other applications running on your computer will run very slow but AuctionYen may perform faster.

Use this option if you are impatient and want AuctionYen to work faster, but you have no need to use other applications on your computer at the same time.
